@mikewmerritt okay, got it. However I would hate to see a tech billionaire supplant a protocol like #ActivityPub and platforms like #mastodon after so many selfless people have worked so hard on them.
It would be nice if #jackdorsey created an interface with #ActivityPub from the start.
@smadre75 I get it. I think it's a reasonable concern. Even if you move servers on Mastodon, you can't currently move your posts, so you start from scratch. Only solution to this currently is to post from elsewhere and sync to Mastodon or post to Mastodon and pull from it to archive.
