Let’s try this again.

Hey, whadda you know. My PHP knowledge hasn’t completely atrophied. I can now create posts with content and a link and simple statuses without one.
FWIW, pt. 2 may be more a personal preference and pt. 3 may be a task for the Friends plugin.
A few observations regarding the #WordPress #ActivityPub plugin:
1) It’d be nice if certain posts could be prevented from being widely distributed. For example, a reply distributed to another blog or Twitter doesn’t make sense to post to Mastodon/Fediverse since the quoted source itself isn’t included.
2) It needs a few more options for how posts are formatted. I don’t think it makes sense to include a link back to the source on simple statuses, though it does make sense for articles.
3) Now that the Friends plugin can send a follow request to an added subscription, it’d be great to have a list of follows as well.
I assumed the margin call already happened.
Testing AP posting without a link again.
Need to see why AP will not post unless there’s a link. Not even necessarily a link but the fourth line since my post last night just included a broken template code.
Trying this without a link again. Maybe my connection was bad last night.
Testing post with link enabled for ActivityPub integration.
Seeing if I can post a regular status without the link back to the blog, which I think will seem spammy when I’m using the blog full-time as my post generator.
