To those who use the plugin and also are using the or plugins as a way to reply to toots: Or is it just me or has anyone noticed that recently (last week or so, maybe longer) isn’t threading the incoming reply?

It may just me. My integration seems to fail a lot in various ways, whether it’s my posts not being sent onward to inboxes or the Post Kinds URL metabox sometimes not saving URLs for replies or likes, but I’d like to see if there’s some larger issue going on.

@sharearea I’m also not a user yet but I do like the account portability aspect. Currently with , if you switch instances you can’t carry over your posts. You can manually copy them over but then you lose all timestamp information. And theoretically I like the Speech -> Reach layer separation, which is tied with account portability, though it remains to be seen how it’ll really work. Elon promised that over at Twitter but didn’t follow through. Mastodon is no better in this aspect so it’s lead some, like myself, to attempt to keep post data in our own databases and push them out to the .

Question to users. I'm trying to use my own site to post here/on the . However, by default the plugin generates a link to the origin post alongside the content. I'm thinking of some ways around this that would also still easily allow posting long-form articles but until then…

Would you consider links to the origin (not an in-context reference) in a regular status post or reply to be spammy?
